This one is a pretty quick & simple hack. I got this kick ass Antec SX-1030
case, and it came with some super generic 3mm green and orange LEDs for the power & hard drive indicators.
I had some cool 5mm blue and white LEDs that I wanted to swap in. Well I had to do some modifications to the panel because of the 2mm diameter and about 4mm height difference of the new LEDs. After a little drilling I get what you see over to the right. The old LEDs were flush with the surface, these stick out quite a bit. The little "plastic light tubes" that bring the light forward through the door had to be trimmed a little as well to account for the protruding LEDs. It was really nice how well they fit into the little connectors on the back side...didn't have to do any soldering or heatshrink tubing. |

To the left you'll see the cool color, and how bright they are! | To the right, another shot with the door closed. | ![]() |
Final Thoughts:
These are just kewl. Nothing but great comments from everyone that's seen them live.
