Schoolhouse Children Crossing Sign

So education is important, eh? I always say,
"Don't let school interfere with your education!"

Since I've been to 10 schools in my life, I decided to list them all plus a comment or two about each:

  1. Wee Wisdom Pre-School 1980 - 1982
    Lake Charles, LA
Pre-School I went to at ages 3 and 4 while my mom was a teacher for 2 & 3 year olds.

  2. Daniel's Farm Elementary 1982 - 1985
    Trumbull, CT
Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and half of 3rd grade. I think I pretty much enjoyed this school, but I was only a kid and didn't know anything about school.

  3. Deerwood Elementary 1986 - 1987
    Kingwood, TX
A good school, was a little more advanced than the last one. I was there for half of 3rd, all of 4th, and half of 5th grade.

  4. Pearl S. Buck Elementary 1988 - 1989
    Pendell, PA
School was in Pendell, I was in Langhorne...small suburban cities/towns North of Philadelphia. This school was okay once I got used to it, but was only there for a year and a half.

  5. Neshaminy Junior High 1989 - 1991
    Langhorne, PA
This school was not exactly the most academically advanced school, but neither were most of the people there :) It was okay though, I had some good friends that didn't care that I was such a dork.

  6. Kingwood High School 1991 - 1995
    Kingwood, TX
The only school I have (and ever will!) attended for the FULL range of grade levels! There is way too much to comment on about KHS, so I am going to leave it out of this page. I'll just sum it up by saying: "It was an experience and a half..."

  7. Kingwood Community College 1995
    Kingwood, TX
I went here for the summer to take College Algebra & Trigonometry so that I could take Calculus when I started in the Fall at:

  8. University of Texas at Dallas 1995 - 1996
    Richardson, TX
Just North of Dallas & South of Plano is this rarely heard of branch of the UT system. Highly academic university that doesn't even have a football team! Things started out great, but overall I didn't fit in well with the people and the area in general. I also was not ready for "college life at a major university" and ended up dropping half of my classes!

  9. Kingwood Community College (again) 1996 - 1997
    Kingwood, TX
I moved back home and went here to repair my college career, as well as my life/sanity. Other than a little bout with Comp & Rhetoric II, I did very well, and improved my GPA significantly. I made the Honor Roll in Spring '97, and managed to complete 16 hours over the following Summer.

  10. University of Houston 1997 - 2000
    Houston, TX
And this is where I finished up college and got my degree! It was enjoyable (well, some of it at least) and I learned a few things. I really hated the bureaucracy at UofH, and am really glad to be out of it.

  11. Several professional training courses related to my work.

And there you have it, my zig-zag route through the educational system!
